    Hello,

We are using All-in-one SEO, and I am getting an error message when trying to update the sitemap that says:

“There has been a critical error on your website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.”

Even letting the cron job do his job, the sitemap doesn’t seem to be updated anymore. I precise that we have a lot of posts, and with 1000 posts per sitemaps, we amount to 31 post-sitemaps and 20 category-sitemaps (Yes, we have a lot of categories). And with the amount of posts we have, there is supposed to be more post-sitemaps.

In addition, the sitemaps for categories are faulty. I only have the first one working and the others have either blank pages or error messages.

Can you tell us how to fix these issues? Thanks.

    This is the sitemap: https://mp3song.co/sitemap.xml

    Hey @vmackey1,

You’re still using static (as opposed to dynamic) sitemap generation, which we don’t recommend. The only reason we still have that feature is legacy support.

I’d recommend you to enable “Dynamic Sitemaps” in the XML Sitemaps menu. That will probably get rid of a lot of the issues you’re experiencing.

After you’ve enabled that setting, you’ll see a notice to delete your static sitemap files. You can either let the plugin do it for you or you can manually delete them in the root folder of your website.

My guess is that you’re site has grown so large that the plugin times out while updating your sitemap. Because it’s a static file, it has to rewrite all of your files every time you make a single change.

Let me know if that makes sense.

    – Arnaud
