Sitemap split needed

I understand the traffic concern, especially if the sitemaps get very large.

Luckily, gzip compression will save loads of data, as around 90% (tested!) is repeated.
i.e. the XML code, domain URL, date, etc.

So when you’re hitting the 10MB uncompressed limit you will actually only send roughly 1MB, if gzip has been enabled on the server — which is most likely the case (and yes, it is in your case).

Your sitemap currently is about 215kB uncompressed, and 23kB compressed.
Your sitemap also contains about 1200 URLs.
You have a lot of work to do before hitting the 10MB or 50,000 URL limit ??
i.e. you require about 280,000 more URLs for hitting the 10MB limit, which far surpassed the 50,000 URL limit.
