  • Hi @nepalpyramids,

We found that all the sitemaps display a warning in the page source: <!-- permalink_structure ends with slash (/) but REQUEST_URI does not end with slash (/) -->.

If you’re using any caching plugins or server cache, you may need to exclude the sitemaps from being cached to remove it. We have a guide here: How do I prevent sitemaps from being cached?.

Can you be more specific about the errors that are being reported in Google Search Console? What is the error message or URL that appears when you click the report for the blog-sitemap.xml, for example?

    Hi @nepalpyramids,

Thanks for the screenshot. If you’re seeing a General HTTP error there’s usually a number that shows the error code. Can you let us know what that is?

If this error code is 403, this means that there is something blocking Google from being able to access your sitemap. If you’re using a security plugin or a service like Cloudflare, you may need to make sure that you’re not blocking access. For further guidance to solve this problem, we recommend contacting your hosting provider.

We see that you’re now using a different sitemap, however, as you’ve confirmed, this problem is usually related to your server or other plugin settings, not to any particular SEO plugin.

    Hi @nepalpyramids,

We can see the sitemap has no technical issue as it is accessible from the browser. We checked your sitemap https://www.nepalpyramids.com/sitemap_index.xml and did not encounter any errors. We also checked your robots.txt file https://www.nepalpyramids.com/robots.txt and did not find anything that might prevent Google from accessing your sitemap.

Google should be able to detect it. Meanwhile, to confirm further we suggest the following actions:

    1. Once again, clear all your caching from your theme, plugin, server, CDN like CloudFlare or browser. If you are not sure how to clear caching from theme/plugin please speak to those authors. If you want to clear cache from the server, please speak to your host provider. To clear the cache from a browser use this guide: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-to-clear-my-browsers-cache/.

    2. Delete your sitemap in Google. Doing so will not hurt the SEO of the site. This guide explains more (scroll to the bottom): https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/183669?hl=en.

    3. Submit the sitemap again. Be sure to submit only sitemap_index.xml and nothing else. This guide explains more: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/submit-sitemap-search-engines/.

    4. Monitor the results to see if the issue is resolved.
