Sitemap sending to wrong url?

Hi. So I used to have a normal html website before making wordpress website.
I therefore created google webmaster tools with https://www.govillascyprus.com
I changed my website to be a wordpress website, installed google xml sitemaps and thereafter read that I should verify and set my preferred domain to https://govillascyprus.com (without www) on Google webmaster tools. I have done this, but the plugin is sending the sitemap to my https://www.govillascyprus.com account instead of the preferred domain?
What can I do? Or is this no problem?
