Sitemap Raplacing

  • Hello

    I installed worpress SEO and made new sitemap. I submitted that sitemap and now I am waiting for indexing, but I still have old sitemap which is indexed.

    Should I delete old one? If I do will all my indexed pages be deleted?
    Should I wait for google to index new one and than delete old one to avoid duplicate?

    Any help would be useful.

  • I would wait until the new sitemap has been indexed. But, if you do delete it beforehand it won’t delete your pages from Google. To speed up indexing, go Fetch as Googlebot and submit the site and all linked pages from indexing again. That usually gets the bot to your website faster.
