sitemap parsing error

    Hello,
    There is a a sitemap parsing error at my website. The sitemap.xml is no longer being created. When I enter mywebsite.com/sitemap.xml , sometimes it loads an empty square in light yellow background, sometimes it shows:
    XML Parsing Error: XML or text declaration not at start of entity
    Location: https://mywebsite.com/sitemap.xml
    Line Number 2, Column 1:<?xml version=”1.0″ encoding=”UTF-8″?>
    What should I do?

  • Hi @hereblu,

    This issue is usually caused if you have empty spaces in our files.
    Check your wp-config.php file as well as some of the main theme files, like header.php, footer.php, functions.php and make sure that there are no empty spaces or lines at the beginning and end of the file.
