• Hi,
I have a wordpress multisite network with a couple of sub-folders based sites.
Is there a way to have all sites and related URLs on root directory/site?
E.g. my-examplesite.com is the root domain and my-examplesite.com/folder-1 is the sub-folder based site on network.
I want to have all the pages and URLs from /folder1 site to root domain’s sitemap.xml.
    Is it possible?

  • I’m not sure that would be a good idea…

The search engines look to your sitemaps for factual info about the single site they are planning to crawl.

If you’ll link from your main site to the secondary sites from your menu, a blogroll, or content then the search engines would probably find that secondary site quickly and then include the site in their indexes.

    Might be the better way.

I do believe some of the more extensive site mapping plugins might allow including external sitemaps into their sitemap. Why you might want that is beyond my understanding except in the case of a storefront, blog, or auxiliary site on a separate subdomain.

If you want an HTML based sitemap for your visitors to peruse you might cobble up a single page to incorporate the HTML based sitemaps from several other pages. Just make sure the other HTML sitemaps incorporate the whole URL.

Bottom line… you can do almost anything you want if your willing to do the work or pay for it.
