Sitemap has “Sitemap appears to be an HTML page” errors

    My site sitemap has an error. when I submitted my sitemap it shows “Your Sitemap appears to be an HTML page. Please use a supported sitemap format instead.” I tried so much to solve it but still I could not solve. I read all of your article to solve it but still the issue exists.

    Please help me to solve this problems.

    My site created with wordpress and I use Yoast SEO. I will buy Yoast SEO Premium plugin but I could not buy for this problems. It is big problems for my site and I can not solve it without your help.
    So, plese help me.

    We’re sorry you’re having trouble with the sitemap as indicated by the Google Search Console. I imagine this can be frustrating for you. We’d like to look a closer look.

    Upon checking your website, it seems that you’ve two different sitemaps exist on your website.

    This sitemap https://sinin.com.bd/sitemap_index.xml is the one generated by our Yoast SEO plugin.

    Whereas another sitemap https://sinin.com.bd/sitemap.xml also does exist which seems to be generated by Google (XML) Sitemaps Generator Plugin for WordPress.

    Since having two sets of different sitemaps may cause confusion to Google, we would recommend that you consider submitting the sitemap to Google Search Console generated by Yoast SEO and remove/disable this one.

    Once you fix the issue, we expect the given error in Google Search Console will resolve.

    Monitor the results to see if the issue is resolved. It can take some time before Google can report on the crawled URLs after you re-submit your sitemap, especially for?large sites?like yours.
