Sitemap errors in google webmaster tools – Invalid date and 404

    I am running wordpress 4.0 with the Yoast SEO plugin version 1.6.3

    After submitting my sitemaps to google webmaster tools I get 2 errors:

    post-sitemap.xml: An invalid date was found. Please fix the date or formatting before resubmitting.

    post_tag-sitemap.xml General HTTP error: 404 not found
    HTTP Error: 404

    I found a support threat from two years ago for the Invalid date issue, but it was closed, as it seemed the issue had been fixed in an update.
