Sitemap Errors

  • Hi, great plugin. It does as what I wanted it to do.

    Lately, saw google webmasters errors for

    1. Compression error: Error with Sitemap compression. Please recompress the file and resubmit. Error site: sitemap_addl.xml.gz

    2. Sitemap file size error: Your Sitemap exceeds the maximum file size limit. Please create multiple Sitemaps containing fewer URLs to meet the file size limit. Error site: sitemap_addl.xml.gz

    I have only 58 Posts, 15 Pages and 481 images. The images have been set not to index.

    What could be the problem?

    You should turn off Enable Sitemap Indexes and resubmit your sitemap to Google.

    Hi, i have unchecked Enable Sitemap Indexes. At Google Webmaster, I clicked “resubmit”.

    When testing the sitemap, there is a new error “Sitemap is HTML”. Is it normal?
