It seems WordPress SEO and Easy Digital Downloads are not playing well I’m not getting any sitemaps. If I deactivate EDD it’s fine but when activated I get this error.

XML Parsing Error: junk after document element
    Location: DOMAIN/sitemap_index.xml
    Line Number 2, Column 1:
    <b>Warning</b>: Undefined array key 0 in <b>/www/wwwroot/DOMAIN/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/inc/sitemaps/class-post-type-sitemap-provider.php</b> on line <b>142</b><br />

    Using
PHP 8.1, NGINX 1.21.4, WordPress SEO and Easy Digital Downloads

I’ve disabled php display errors so it shows the xml sitemaps but it’s still an issue just only showing in site error logs now.

    Hi @pclweb

Just to clarify, do you have the latest version of WordPress 5.8.2, Yoast SEO 17.8, and the latest version of EDD?

Regarding this error where the XML sitemap doesn’t display as expected (/sitemap_index.xml), often, we see problems occur in combination with another plugin or theme. The fastest way to rule out any conflict, is to deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme like Twenty Twenty.

Please test this on your development or staging site, if you have one. If not, we recommend using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin. This plugin has a troubleshooting mode, which does not affect normal visitors to your site.

If you’re unfamiliar with checking for conflicts, we’d like to point you to a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process: How to check for plugin conflicts

Could you check if this issue still occurs with a default WP theme (such as TwentyTwenty), and only Yoast SEO and EDD as the plugins enabled? Could you provide us with the URL to your sitemap so we can also try and check on this further?
