Sitemap does not load in Firefox

Somewhere in the last few days, my sitemap has stopped working in Firefox. It’s loading just fine in Chrome and Edge, but not in Firefox (latest version 69.0.3).
The page just keeps loading but never shows anything. The same goes for the sitemap sub pages.
I’ve tried the following:
– emptied the browser cache
– disabled all other plugins
– removed yoast latest version and tested with 12.0 and 11.0
– none of these solutions help.I’m also experiencing the exact same problem with all of the websites I manage. A few examples:

I’m not sure when it started, but it cannot be very more than a few weeks.
