Hi, I’ve created a sitemap with Yoast but when I submit via google console it says it can’t be fetched and gives a “general HTTP error” and a 404.
When using https://www.xml-sitemaps.com/validate-xml-sitemap.html there’s no issues detected.
I have cleared the cache of my caching plugins and have deleted and resubmitted the sitemap to google.

when i go to SEO tools and robots.txt this is all there is:
    User-agent: *
    Disallow: /wp-admin/
    Allow: /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php

As far as I’m aware I’ve followed all advice about this topic that I can find but to no avail. Can you please assist me with this issue anyone?

    Thank you,
    Liz

    Hello Armedandgorgeous,

Thanks for reaching out regarding your XML sitemap.

We checked on your sitemap at https://www.armedandgorgeous.com/page-sitemap.xml and it is loading as expected. There is nothing that should prevent it from being fetched and crawled by Google.

We understand that you have tried many troubleshooting techniques to get this resolved but to no avail; we can imagine the frustration as you have tried all we could have suggested.

If Google is still unable to read the sitemap, allow a few days before checking again. And in the case it’s still showing that it cannot find the sitemap, we suggest contacting Google for more information as Yoast is outputting the sitemap correctly. There is nothing about the Yoast sitemap that would prevent Google from finding and crawling it. You may contact Google by making a post on their forums: https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!forum/webmasters.
