Sitemap can be read, but has errors

@fupfac The error of ‘Your Sitemap appears to be an HTML page’ you receive on your sitemap can be caused by a number of issues, including the submitted URL, or that the sitemap page is being redirected. Can you please confirm whether you have submitted the sitemap to Google Search Console as ‘sitemap_index.xml‘ and not ‘sitemap.xml‘?

When I look at https://blog.aumet.me/sitemap.xml I see some non related page. Could this be a hack on our website removing the yoast xml to push this one?

@fupfac When I visit https://blog.aumet.me/sitemap_index.xml I do see the Yoast sitemap generated. The sitemap located at sitemap.xml does not appear to be generated by Yoast. Do you recognize the URLs in it? Also, do you have any other sitemap plugins on the site?

We don’t think this is a virus but either anything on your site or your host account creating this sitemap. Maybe you want to reach out to your web host to find out where this originates from.

Nop it was a hack. Now it’s solved! anyone with the same issue the hack used against us was https://wpvulndb.com/vulnerabilities/10131
