Hi! I’d like to ask, how can I settings:

    – some pages removed from the sitemap
(example thanks pages after subscribing which I put in robots.txt)

    – how can I change the URL where I use 301 redirection
(in post, and pages and chategory as well)

    – how can I delete all testimonials pages (I don’t want to use it as a separeted duplicated pages jut I use it all together for one page)

    – how can I delete all: employees, pricing, clients, edge, tabs, animated columns pages I don’t use it and it is now empty or 404 or duplicated content

    Thank You!

  • Hi,

We will respond to each question below! If we missed any let us know!

    1. some pages removed from the sitemap (example thanks pages after subscribing which I put in robots.txt)
You can remove individual pages from the sitemap by noindexing them. This guide explains more: https://yoast.com/help/how-do-i-noindex-urls/#single

    2. how can I change the URL where I use 301 redirection (in post, and pages and chategory as well)
Are you using our Yoast SEO Premium plugin or a different plugin to manage the redirection? If you are using a different plugin we can only say to contact that plugin author for more information.

    3. how can I delete all testimonials pages (I don’t want to use it as a separeted duplicated pages jut I use it all together for one page)
WordPress has a feature which lets users delete pages. This guide explains more: https://easywpguide.com/wordpress-manual/adding-your-site-content/classic-editor/deleting-content/.

    4. how can I delete all: employees, pricing, clients, edge, tabs, animated columns pages I don’t use it and it is now empty or 404 or duplicated content.
See #3 above which explains more about how to delete pages on a WordPress website.

With 404 pages you cannot delete this. What you will need to do is redirect them. If you are using a non-Yoast product to manage your redirects you will need to contact that plugin author for more information on how to make a redirect.

Thanks for Your quick answer, but we misunderstood each other, sorry if I wasn’t clear.

    1. Yes, i know this information, but I don’t want to send for the Google noindex pages (I just want to send good quality pages in sitemap as it recommend): blog, pages, category pages.

    2. So, the premium Yoast SEO plugin can put the redirected URL in the sitemap?

    3. Yes, I know, but I put all the (testimonilas) recommendations on one page. But tetimonials creates a separate subpage for after each testimonials, which is a duplication, as I wrote (and i don’t use). And on the sitemap these appear on it. Of course I put it on noindex before, but I want to delete this on the sitemap as well (I don’t want to send these noindex pages too in sitemap for Search Console).

    4. Unfortunatelly the Yoast SEO plugin tehese pages put in the sitemap, which is degrades the quality of the domain. I need on the sitemap for only the pages, category and page of blogs. Instead, all sorts of unused pages that I’ve written before (which WordPress creates).

In summary, the site map should include good quality pages, not 404 or duplicate content that I put on nofollow… I don’t know how can I delete these pages from the sitemap including thank-you pages (I use after subscribing to the newsletter) etc.

    Hi,

We have responded to the different questions below.

    1. Yes, i know this information, but I don’t want to send for the Google noindex pages (I just want to send good quality pages in sitemap as it recommend): blog, pages, category pages.
If you noindex a page you tell Google to not crawl it or follow the links on it so the page will not appear in Google. Yoast also removes these noindex pages from the sitemap.

This is good if the page has information on it for your audience but for whatever reason you do not want Google to show it in the search results. This way your audience can still access the information.

The alternative is to just delete the page altogether. Your audience and Google won’t have access to the page if you do this. If you delete a page, we also remove it from the sitemap.

    2. So, the premium Yoast SEO plugin can put the redirected URL in the sitemap?
Yes. If you make a redirect with Yoast we remove the old URL (so it no longer appears on the sitemap) and we make sure the new one you want users/Google to use does.

Ahh ok. Your best bet is to delete the testimonials you no longer need. If you do that, we will remove those testimonial content types from the sitemap.

    4. Unfortunatelly the Yoast SEO plugin tehese pages put in the sitemap, which is degrades the quality of the domain. I need on the sitemap for only the pages, category and page of blogs. Instead, all sorts of unused pages that I’ve written before (which WordPress creates).
    Hmmm. Ok.

If your audience needs access to these content types: employees, pricing, clients, edge, tabs, animated columns pages you can noindex them. This will pull them off of the sitemap.

Go to SEO-Search Appearance and look in the different tabs. Find the right item in the tab and click on it. Then select NO. This will remove those content types from the sitemap.

If you are not seeing them, then you will need to go to each employee, pricing, clients etc., page and mark them as noindex. When you do that, Yoast is expected to remove it from the sitemap.

    Hi,

Okay, I try to another way to explane my problem:

    1. Can You tell me how can I delete from the sitemap 404 subpages?

    Example:

    A. https://www.example.com/?post_type=testimonial&p=5432

    B. https://www.example.com/?post_type=employees&p=76543

    C. https://www.example.com/?post_type=pricing&p=122

(I can’t put on nofollow, because it isn’t exist, and the WordPress created automatically. Yoast put on the sitemap which is demage the quality, so i don’t need it, but i can’t delete from the sitemap.)

    D. https://www.example.com/?post_type=animated-columns&p=28765

    F. https://www.example.com/clients-sitemap.xml
On it appear Yoast text and Your link, but there isn’t any link of my webpage. Or it is an advertisement?

    2. Perfect

    Thank You!

    Hi,

To clarify, you have a sitemap and the sitemap has subsites (such as for pricing, employee etc). Clicking on those sub sitemaps goes to a 404? Is that correct? You want to remove those sub sitemaps from the main sitemap?

If that is correct we ask that you try the following

    1. Go to SEO-Search Appearance and click on Content Types and or Taxonomies. Look at the list. Do you see any of those sub sitemaps appearing? If so, click on them and make sure it says NO. This will remove the sub sitemap.

    2. If the issue continues, go to Settings-Permalinks and re-save.

    3. Go to SEO-General-Features and disable and then re-enable the sitemap.

    4. Does clearing your caching from your theme, plugin, server, CDN like CloudFlare or browser resolve the issue? If you are not sure how to clear caching from theme/plugin please speak to those authors. If you want to clear cache from the server, please speak to your host provider. To clear the cache from a browser use this guide: https://yoast.com/help/how-to-clear-my-browsers-cache/

Hi, thank You, You are right. I did it what You said. Now just remained 2 row (which is empty), how can I remove:

    1. clients-sitemap.xml

    2. example.com//tab_slider-sitemap.xml

    @anand15

We are glad we are getting closer to a resolution. It is odd those sitemaps are still showing.

Can you confirm that you went to SEO-Search Appearance and clicked on Content Types and Taxonomies? Does Client or Tab_Slider appear as options on those sections?

If so, click on it and select NO. Does the issue resolve?

    (@anand15)
