We have a 1 page wordpress website and use Yoast with sitemaps enabled. When we try to view the sitemap at domain.com/sitemap_index.xml, we get a 404 not found page, and Google Search Console can’t fetch it as well.

Could this be due to the website being only 1 page? Or a bug in Yoast?

    Thanks,

    Jannette

    Hello @cliffmama

Thanks for reaching out about your sitemap. If you have enabled the sitemap feature in WordPress > Yoast SEO > Settings > Site Features > APIs > Sitemap and depending on the structure of your one-pager, a sitemap index should be generated at /sitemap_index.xml/.

Though it’s a one-page website, can you share the following information?

    • A screenshot of WordPress > Settings > Reading
    • Do you have pages in WordPress > Pages > All Pages
    • Do you have posts in WordPress > Posts > All Posts

I look forward to hearing from you.
