I recently moved to a new host, but started my website up from scratch (I did not move the files over). The sitemap has not generated – is there anything I can do to create it?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello again ??

TSF’s sitemap is virtual. If you go to /sitemap.xml-alt, you’ll find that it works.

Most likely, your Litespeed configuration has a rule in place (via the virtual host or .htaccess file) that prevents PHP-FPM from engaging when it finds a .xml$ request (so, WordPress won’t boot), and instead only allows processing real files on the server.

See if you can find and purge that rule (while still being able to access real .xml files).

    Hi ??

Thanks for helping me with this!!

I contacted my webhost and they’re trying to help me through those settings, so far nothing has resolved the issue.

I am using Cloudflare, any chance that’s having an issue with accessing the sitemap?

    Hello!

I’m afraid I cannot give any more pointers from here–I’ll have to dive deep into your server to find the cause. Cloudflare can hamper debugging the issue since they act as a caching proxy.

Nevertheless, I’m sure the hosting party would like this resolved soon since WordPress 5.5 will also output sitemaps much as we do now.

Until then, you can safely submit the .xml-alt sitemap to Google and Bing, so they can start processing the sitemap ??

I have indeed given up on trying to figure this out haha! I tried disabling plugins, resetting things, and just nothing works. I went ahead and did what you said about submitting the alt version and it seems to be working just fine now.

As always, thank you for your amazing support throughout the years!!!!
