I received an email from iPage regarding a corrupted file that SiteLock found. Detailed here: Scan started at – Thu May 9 17:56:03 EDT 2019
    /wp-content/themes/kale/functions.php: SiteLock-PHP-FILEHACKER-akd.UNOFFICIAL FOUND
    ———– SCAN SUMMARY ———–
    Infected files: 1
    Time: 2811.147 sec (46 m 51 s)
Scan ended at – Thu May 9 18:42:54 EDT 2019

A couple questions: 1.I do not have the Kale Theme anymore so how can there be a corrupt file there? 2.Why wouldn’t my Wordfence scan find the same issue? 3.Do I even need SiteLock if I have Wordfence?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hey @doerr,

I’d suggest checking using FTP or your hosting control panel to make sure the files aren’t there. If they aren’t there, you might reach out to SiteLock for their thoughts as it might be a false positive.

Please let me know how it goes.

    Thanks,

Thank you. I can see the theme in my File Manager when I log into my host provider website. It was the theme I was using when I first started my website, but have since changed themes. Can the theme be deleted from File Manager? I guess I am just afraid of deleting something I should not, and creating a larger issue.

    Thanks.

    Hey @doerr,

Yes, it should definitely be deleted. It’s good practice to always delete plugins and themes that aren’t in use on the site.

Please let me know how it goes.

    Thanks,

    Gerroald
