Have installed SiteKit successfully. Search Console and Analytics all fine and working. Adsense is not connected. When trying to connect I get a “Error: Ad Client not found” that flashes on the screen and then it continues to try to install (never makes any progress). Have signed up for Adsense and it’s waiting to “see” the code on the site but can’t get sitekit to get that far.

Thanks in advance for insights and help!

@ricthompson Many thanks for the update, really useful insights. I’ll add this to the related GitHub issue.

If you have a moment free please also considering sharing your thoughts on using Site Kit so far, after experimenting with the various product dashboards.

@sebranger This notice can appear at present not specifically if you have multiple AdSense accounts. It can also appear if you don’t have an approved site or account. We’re working on improving the messaging within Site Kit for such situations, however keep an eye out for an emails you’ve received from the AdSense team.

@padosky I’ve just responded to your support topic now.

I’m having the same issue, except that AdSense emailed me with the “You have another AdSense account.”
Except that I don’t. I have no connection to the email address it gave me. I emailed support and received no response.

So I marked that I had closed the old account, just to see what would happen. Five hours later I got the “another AdSense account” message.

For a completely different email that I also have no earthly connection with.

So, in a “you gotta be kidding me” reaction, I marked again that I “closed” the other account. A day later, I’ve not gotten an email telling me that I have a third, mysterious AdSense account (that I have no connection to).

I am at a loss to understand why AdSense thought twice that I had two other non-related accounts.

At any rate, Site Kit spins trying to load AdSense and briefly gives me the no Ad client found message. So, I went to AdSense and marked that the code was on my WP site in defiance of the endless install.

And AdSense said it found the code on my site. So, I guess I’m waiting a few days up to the two weeks that AdSense said it’ll take for the next step.

It’s been a fascinatingly wonky process so far.

Get those error messages updated in there please, wasting a lot of people’s time. I finally see now this isn’t working because the account isn’t approved yet, shouldn’t have had to search for 20 minutes to find out that is why it’s not connecting. Not to mention, turns out I do already have an adsense account I wasn’t aware of from a decade ago

@connectgo @mammothconcepts Sorry to hear of the trouble you’ve been encountering when attempting to setup ads on your site via Site Kit. We are working on a solution to the messaging within Site Kit at present, with a fix expected at the next release.

Note that any update within Site Kit will display a more appropriate message, to notify users that we’re getting your site ready to show ads. Should the AdSense network determine your site is not approved because of duplicate AdSense accounts ads won’t be served. Any solution for such scenarios must be resolved at AdSense level, unfortunately we’re unable to assist here in the Site Kit support forums. The product experts at the AdSense Help Center however should be able to assist in relation to any issues blocking site or account approval.

@connectgo @mammothconcepts We’ve released a fix for this issue in today’s 1.28.0 release, which you can read more about here. If your AdSense account is in review, you should now see a message indicating that your account is getting ready in Site Kit > AdSense, as opposed to the loading bar. If your AdSense account has been approved, you should see AdSense information in Site Kit > AdSense. Please let us know if you are still experiencing issues. If you have any other questions, please feel free to create a new topic. Thank you for using Site Kit!
