    Hey!

I’m encountering a problem with Google Adsense, following a theme change. While I believe this problem has something to do with it, I’m not sure, so I’ll describe it below.

Google Sitekit is connected and everything works well. But when I try to add AutoAds, I get a message “In-page Ads Off”, and a red box saying “Get Code”. So it’s telling me to insert a code into my header. Simple enough, but a few months ago, I just installed sitekit and I could run autoads instantly, so what’s the problem right now?

I should add that adding HTML code into ad boxes works fine on my website. So there is no problems with ads running on my website. It’s just the autoads that isn’t working.

Honestly, I’m not really good at the code side of things, so I’d appreciate any help I can get. Much love!

Thanks for opening a support topic. We’d be happy to help you with your query.

When you mention you try to add Auto ads it’s not necessary to manually add Auto ads on your site. If you allow Site Kit to insert AdSense code on your site when connecting the AdSense module the plugin places the Auto ads snippet for you. I’ve checked your sites sources code and I can see this Site Kit placed snippet evident.

If you switch themes this also isn’t a problem. Site Kit programmatically ads the snippet to your active theme.

I did notice single ad unit code on your site however I don’t see any ads rendering from the checks currently performed. While we’re limited to Site Kit plugin support I can confirm that the required Auto ads code does exist on your site, placed via Site Kit. If you’d like me to also check your Site Kit setup by sharing your Site Health information I can check the AdSense account status, which may provide further insights on your account status.

Yes, you’re absolutely right! I might’ve missed that, and so when I saw the message, I just thought that perhaps my code (inserted by Sitekit) wasn’t working. But I activated the autoads, even with the “error” message, and it does seem like autoads are showing up?

It’s a bit odd, because on Google Adsense website, I’m getting a message that I need to add code into header, like it doesn’t recognize Sitekit. But Sitekit seems to be working just fine, and I’m not encountering any error messages or any red lights, so I guess I’m fine on Sitekit end. It seems to be fine.

I apologize for bothering you. It looks like the ads are showing, so it’s definitely no fault of Sitekit. The code is there, like you stated, and the ads are magically showing. I can’t complain, but I appreciate you taking the time. It really does mean a lot.

    Much love, and merry Christmas!

@thehergula No problem whatsoever, happy to help!

In relation to the experience on the AdSense platform when attempting to setup Auto ads is this when you navigate to “Ads > Overview” and then use the “Get code” option, or did you experience this when first adding the site manually from adsense.google.com? I’m happy to inspect this further if you want to provide more information on this.

And merry Christmas to you also! Your kind words are greatly appreciated.
