    Hi,

I just wanted to doublecheck this plugin is compatible with Siteground SG SuperCacher plugin?

On the installation info page it says it is “known compatible” but it also listed WP Rocket there before, and i later found out it wasn’t compatible.

    Thanks

Yes glad to help. So far, no issues have been reported for SG SuperCacher plugin. Like all technology however things are always changing, so it’s not realistic to “guarantee” compatibility with any 3rd-party scripts. As explained in the article you mention, the main thing that conflicts with plugins such as Blackhole is “page caching”. So as long as that does not enter the equation, you should be fine. Let me know if I can provide any further infos, glad to help.

Hi Jeff, the SuperCacher has two main options: static cache and dynamic cache. There’s a quick overview on this page: https://www.siteground.com/tutorials/supercacher/introduction/

Would the Blackhole plugin not work with the dynamic cache, and that seems like a page cache?

Correct, for Dynamic Cache it says:

“It caches the HTML output created by the PHP code..”

..which is equivalent to page caching. So I will update the article to mention that for SG caching option.

Just to follow up with this.. thanks to a lot of great feedback and ideas on the topic of cache-plugin compatibility, I have been able to implement a solution for page-caching plugins like WP Fastest Cache, and possible others like Siteground SuperCacher.

I need to do some further testing of the new version before releasing it, so please let me know if you (or anyone else reading) would be able to help beta test. You can reach me via the contact form at Plugin Planet, and I’ll reply with the latest version of Blackhole for Bad Bots.

    Thank you in advance!

    Hi Jeff.
I’d like to follow up on this thread.

I see this on your site now:
    https://plugin-planet.com/blackhole-pro-cache-plugins/

    SG Siteground SuperCacher
    Disable Page Cache feature
Empty/reset the cache before going live

    Just want to confirm,
    1. we should do the above steps BEFORE we install your plugin?
    2. then what?

    Hi TWD,

    Glad to help:

    1) Yes. Or you can wait until after you install but before activation.

    2) Read the Blackhole documentation and follow the steps to implement. Done!

Let me know if I can provide any further infos!

Updated to add: the forums here at www.remarpro.com are for free versions of plugins only. For help/info on pro plugins, please contact me directly via Plugin Planet (form located at the bottom of the page). Thank you!
