Siteground security blocks login attempts

  • Today we noticed that our admins cannot login to WP/Woocommerce. When trying to reach login page, it said that “The access to that page has been restricted by the administrator of this website”. We did not do any changes to Siteground security settings.

    I had already been logged in so I could browse through the settings and plugins for troubleshooting. I noticed that when disabling sitegrouns security the login page can be reached normally and also login works fine.

    I updated all plugins and WP to be sure that all is good, but when activating siteground it returns to that previous behavior.

    Please fix the plugin so it will work again!

    Hello @laurikautto,

    By default your WordPress login page can be accessed by anyone. You can use this functionality to allow access to the wp-admin only from your IP. If your admins use a dynamic IP, then you can whitelist the range of possible IPs that their ISP may assign to them to avoid any problems accessing the WordPress admin panel.

    You can discuss the case with your admins and add their IP addresses in the list:

    WordPress Dashboard > SG Security > Login security > Login Access > Configure.
