    Hi,
we checked our website this morning and we noticed that it was taking ages to load to then showing “error 502 bad gateway”

Siteground answered that they did not find records for high load on the server but they noticed this early morning something causing the high I/O usage (how can we tell what caused this high I/O usage?). they don’t see eager to help for this.

    Main errors we got:
Timeout waiting for output from CGI script
    GET /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php HTTP/1.1″ 499 0 “-” “IonCrawl

in the same cloud hosted on siteground we have other 2 websites on top on this one with the error

the other 2 websites take ages to load but then you see the pages, the other one shows error 502 and nothing else. nobody has updated or edited anything for 2 weeks or not more. up to last night they were all running ok.

we also tried to access via wp dashboard but it is impossible with this 502 error. We renamed the plugins and themes folders in order to deactivate them but nothing happened.

we tried to access phpmyadmin and it gives us a blank page.

We need urgent help, we do not know what happened. our customers visit our website and now see error 502. it needs fixing as soon as possible. this is a bad image for customers and prospective ones.

Try manually resetting your plugins (no Dashboard access required). If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the default theme to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

If that does not resolve the issue, try contacting your hosting provider.
