Site wont load after problem with password

  • Wordpress site bringing up ‘ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT’ and won’t load at all. Any known solution for this?

    Hi all, I hope you can help me find a solution as I can't find one when I search.

When I try to access my site I just get 'ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT'. Here are some details that may be helpful.

I think this may have happened after a failed login and changing my password. It worked before that.

This problem is only on wifi. By that I mean only wifi routers I have used while trying to access the dashboard are affected.

If I use a VPN I can access it.

If I use my phone I can access it.

All computers and devices that are connected to the wifi I use (Home and Work routers) can not access the site.

I can access it by plugging directly into the modem.

I have other sites on the same server that I can not access as well, although I also had the login problem and changed passwords on those sites as well.

I have reset my router. I have also tried a different router.

I have cleared cookies.

I have been working with my host for a while now but both of us can't find a solution.

Firewall is not the culprit.

I can't load the site as well as the WordPress login page for the site.

I believe I have the magic ability to kill other routers as well. If I bring my PC and log in on a new router I will get everyone that tries to use that router to not be able to access it.

    I have had people from all over the world and even locally by my ISP try it and they can access it no problem. Orders are still coming in, I just have to switch to my phone’s data to process them. Help me please!

  • Hi @qwertyqyle, based on your description it seems like this is an issue not with the WordPress site but with the network configuration on the computer you’re trying to access it from. I tried visiting the link as well and I can open it just fine.

    Since this is not a WordPress issue, these forums would not be the right place to ask. Nonetheless someone might be able to help you out if you could provide us more details about your OS, networking settings and whether you made any changes to your network in the recent days.

    Thank you @dhruvkb for the reply. I thought this was a WordPress problem as I only have the problem on my WordPress sites. No other sites or apps have any connection issues.

    As for my network and PC they are just a normal router and laptop out of the box. Nothing special has been done to them. At home I use a Belkin router and work uses a Buffalo router. I have tried other routers and resetting them but nothing works. As for the computer, no devices can access the site using my wifi. PCs, Tablets, phones, etc.

    The sites worked fine until I messed up at the WordPress login portal.

    If you can think of a better place for me to ask this question I would love to hear it.

    I’m not sure what could be causing the issue and I don’t what the right place would be to ask this either. I really sorry for not being able to help further. We can wait to see if someone else knows how to resolve this.
