I was installing a few plugins to improve my site, for which I am the administrator. I logged out for a while and went back. But the site does not let me in saying I don’t have sufficient rights to access… Is there any other way I can sign in? Can there be a virus or bug in the plugin that caused that?
    Thanks for your help!
    S.

  • Not sure about the plugin causing a virus.

But you can try and reset your password in the MySQL database for admin. Using your MySQL panel provided by your hosting company.

See the following to deactivate the plugins:

and the following to reset your password if needed.

figaro thank you so much! It totally worked and I found the plugin that crashed the system. It happened again as I was re-activating them…
The plugin was the minimeta widget
Thanks again, it was a pretty weird feeling to be seating in front of the screen without being able to get into the back-end of the site!

You’re welcome…glad it worked for you. For future reference, you can do a lot in your db with those same procedures…just always make a backup in the event something goes wrong.
