Site will not display in IE

I’ve had this problem for weeks now, if I change the theme to default it works fine, I contacted the theme maker but he hasn’t responded and has also not made a post on his blog for around a month.

Theme works fine in FF, yet in IE it crashes, I have NO idea about debugging I looked on https://validator.w3.org/mysiteresults to check my page (the link will show you I have 46 errors) which I have no clue about.

I tried to figure out firebug but thats all way too confusing to me, I did however find that IE8 has a debugger, and it says the problem it finds is:

document.getElementById(“StartMenu”).style.left = “-1000px”;

What is wrong with this? How can I edit the themes .js to work in IE?
