Site-wide plugin options

  • Hello!

    Other than directly editing the plugin’s php files, is there no way of forcing the network to use the same options (or at the very least, the same default options) for a network-activated plugin? I’m talking about plugins that are too complicated to be placed in mu-plugins directory (use subdirectories, etc).

    And it works! Only thing: it’s not super user-friendly; the options are given to you as how they are stored in the db, so you better hope that your plugin author has properly prefixed and named his/her options. Example: I was able to spread the options I had for the Fluency Admin plugin because the options were written as such:

    fluency_hot_keys true
    fluency_login_link
    fluency_login_logo
    fluency_login_style false
    fluency_menu_icons false
    fluency_menu_logo
    fluency_menu_position true
    fluency_menu_width

    and so were easily recognizable. But in any case, anyone using the Multi-site function at this stage of the game (we’ll see in a year how things have improved!) should be able to figure it out.

    Did you get Akismet to work, to spread over a few different blogs? I can’t seem to get this plugin to work. Did you use the settings for YD-sitewide options on your main blog? Can you give me some hints how you made the plugin work?

    Akismet is already built to work across all blogs. Open the plugin file and read what it says.
