    Dear friends,

    After changing the language in my config.php file, my website is completely gone. (www.fransvandervleuten.nl). Even the wp-admin is not accessible anymore.

    I edited the config.php file by downloading it via FileZIlla, editing it in a texteditor and uploaded it again to my server. I changes the file to the original code but it’s not working either.

    Is there a way to get my website back?

    Thanks!!!

  • Did you make a backup of the wp-config.php file? Is it recoverable in your text editor by hitting undo? If so then simply re-upload the original file

    If not, can you place the current wp-config.php somewhere like pastebin.com so that we can take a look at where you went wrong. Of course mask any passwords etc.

    I always make backups of file, except for this time. I thought it was a quick and easy change of code.

    I’ve put the code here: https://pastebin.com/PMmzNUrz
    (there’s only a pass in there for mySQL which i do not use)

    This line:

    define('WPLANG', '’);

    There are two different types of single quotes where you normally insert the language. I reckon if you correct that situation, everything will be OK.

    Great, that’s it.

    The text editor I used has some single quote options which can change. Good for typing, not for coding.

    Thanks a lot for your help on this one, wpranger. ??
