  • I am guessing your using a self hosted WordPress and not WordPress.com hence you don’t see the option, that is extra feature added by Automattic for WordPress.com users.

    But there are plugins which will give you similar functionality on your self hosted WordPress site.

    I think that the problem is that you are looking at the “wordpress.com” support pages, it seems that the version of WordPress run in their domain is different in this regard from the one which is published and runs everywhere else. I expect that instead of these 3 options you are getting a tickbox and “encourage webbots to index this site”.

    As an alternative I suggest that you look into the option of running a password protected website, this is an option configured outside of WordPress and within your web hosting management software (often cPanel), the option is “Password protected directories” This option will let you assign a username and password to your website.

    Thank you but I need help to know how to do this since I am sooo very bad at all this tecnikal stuff :-). For me your answers just as well could have been writen in Chinese ??
