• We’ve set up a site on WordPress and added the “JW Player” as well as the “CP Media Player”, but are having some issues with the video playing properly on mobile devices and tablets.

Far from a computer tech or engineer, so we were hoping these might help, so we’re turning to those in the know to seek some experienced help.

    Thanks

    Hi,

Could you send me the link to the webpage where was inserted the video player to check the issue, please?

Our plugin is supported by the most popular browsers, in PC and mobile devices, however, should be selected a correct video format, or would be needed additional conditions in the users browsers.

For example, if you tries to playback a video with WMV format, the plugin will use its core implemented with Silverlight, but in this case the users require have installed Silverlight on their browsers. Something similar occurs if you select a video in FLV format, the plugin will use the core implemented in Flash, and the users require Flash in their browsers.

Summarizing, I recommend the use of MP4 videos, encoded with H.264

    Best regards.

Hi, and of course, and thank you.

    The website is: https://www.imjerseysure.com

We did start with and MP4 video, so obviously we’re still a little confused by the issues, but that isn’t saying all that much as we come across these problems all for the first time. Anything you’re able to figure out to help correct these hurdles is all greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Hi,

I recommend to clear the browser’s cache, and visit your website again.
I’ve tested your website in a tablet Nexus, and my mobile, both with Android, and the video player is working fine in both of them. Furthermore, I’ve tested your website with other mobile browsers like Firefox, and Dolphin with similar results.

Please, check the screenshots in the following links:

I just tried it on android and the same issue occurs. While the site appears to be functioning properly, when the video is played, there is only the audio and no video visible. Any ideas? As of last night the video did not even load on an Ipad.

    Thanks

I should add that as of late last night, when we ended up finally calling it a day, the video did play properly on a desktop with IE and Google Chrome.

I’ve had someone else tell me today the problem could be with the “theme” chosen on WordPress, but there is no way for us to know ourselves if this is true, and if so what theme we should, or should have, used to prevent the same problem then, or going forward. ?? Any help you have and can provide in relation to all this is GREATLY appreciated.

    Thanks

    Hi,

I’ve encoded your video to MP4 with H.264, and uploaded it my temporal website. I’ve tested the webpage in all my devices, included an iPhone, and iPad, and all is working fine.

Please, visit the following link in your mobile devices:

Thank you for all your efforts. While we are on the run today, we will absolutely go over everything and retry it all tomorrow and let you know how we do. Here’s hoping! ?? We’d be completely lost most likely right now otherwise.

    Til tomorrow. Thanks again.

The problem we incurred seems to have been solved. Thank you so much for helping us clear one major hurdle!

    Hi,

The issue was simple, not all video files use the same codecs for video, even with a same extension (in your case mp4). If you visit the following link:

    https://www.w3schools.com/html/html5_video.asp

You will see a summary of the videos suported by the browsers, evidently the mp4 is the recommended format but using the h.264 video codec.

You can use the free application “Handbrake” to convert your videos:

    Best regards.

Thank you. Maybe you can point us in the right direction in reference to this issue as well (posted last night):

While we have been able to share a link to our website, we’ve struggled getting a thumbnail for our all important video to appear when sharing on social media and more despite trying several different things along the way. I’m hoping someone with a lot more technical knowledge than we have might be able to take a look and figure out why. We’d like to be have the video visual shareable but only play on the actual website as it pertains to sales and will create one less step for the customer.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

    Hi,

There are many plugins for sharing in social networks, I recommend you testing any of them, and contacting the developers.

    Best regards.

Yes, thank you. Unfortunately, we tried countless plug-ins last night to no avail. Could obviously be we’re missing something along the way that is just beyond our knowledge, but we’ve hit a wall just the same. Any idea who we should (or maybe shouldn’t) reach out to in this regard? If the plug-ins didn’t work, is there something else that may be causing the same issue?

    Thanks
