• I built a new site in a test mode in a subdirectory of my site. Before I went to upload it to what will be it’s permanent home, I made the mistake of changing the site URL to the new address before I copied the files. I had some issues with the transfer, and need to go back in to my test site and make a few new edits.

Now, though, because I changed the URL, the site wants to always find the REAL URL where there is the outdated site that I will be replacing. I managed to use MyPHPAdmin to change the “siteURL” within the “wp_options”. This has given me access again to see the home page when I go directly to the testing URL. But – all other pages on the site are still apparently directing to the “active” URL, so all links give me a 404 error. This includes the Admin login. I can get to the “wp-login.php” and enter my user and password, but it immediately tells me my password is incorrect. (I have checked it also in the wp_options.) If I attempt to do a “Forgot Password”, I get the 404 error again because it seems that functionality is also using the active site URL. Bottom line, I have no access to the WP Dashboard.

So my question is – how can I change the URL of any or all of the individual pages when I have no access to the dashboard? I can get to files directly through FTP, but don’t know where to begin.

    Help?
