• My site has been up and down – mostly down – for at least the past 24 hours, which unfortunately coincided with my launching a book. So, people looking for information on my book have been getting a dead page. This has never happened before.

It doesn’t appear from my end to have been hacked, but I have no idea. What can I do to get it working again?

It looks like it’s up at the moment, but 10 minutes ago, it was down, as it was frequently yesterday.

have you talked to your webhosting company (bluehost?) to see if there is anything happening on their end?

have you installed any new plugins recently?

Could be a DoS attack, too many users hitting your site, Your content pages are too large and overwhelming your hosted site.

1.) Do you share or do you have your site on its own hardware at the hosted site? Can they look at the resources to see if you need CPU, RAM or more network/WAN bandwidth.

2.) Someone putting a UDP_Flood or DoS attack due to your material. My blog page is Pro-Trump and get hammered with attacks daily.

3.) Did you add new plugins that are causing the issue

What is in the error logs for WP and Apache?

Sorry I didn’t respond sooner! I wasn’t notified of any replies. I ended up working it out with BlueHost. I think they said it was due to a server migration on their end. The story didn’t quite jibe with me, but everything was normal given a day or two time. Thanks for your replies.
