Site Title is not updating on tab

  • I’m new to this, but I have a few other brand-new WordPress sites and any changes I make to their Site Titles are instantly updated to their tabs. All I have to do is go to General Settings and enter whatever changes I want to make to the Site Title there.

    It must be a malfunction. How do I get this corrected?!

    Check it out: the title of this site (in the tab) should read “Department of Empowerment,” NOT “Legitimate Work-at-Home Jobs and Opportunities.”

    It’s showing up in the tab as “Legitimate Work-at-Home Jobs and Opportunities,” isn’t it? This is something I entered before I typed in “Department of Empowerment” last night.

  • Do you have any caching on your site or server?

    If not, try deactivating all your plugins and switching to the default WP theme.

    I’m sorry, but I don’t know what a caching is or what cachings are – I’ll have to look it up. GVO does my hosting, so does that make GVO my server? Like I said, I’m really new to this.

    I do know that I don’t want to change my theme… I didn’t set it up and it contains a whole lot of data which probably won’t fit into the default WP theme. Have you heard of the Plug-In Profit Site by Stone Evans? That’s what this site is.

    We don’t support commercial themes here, so if it’s a theme problem, you’ll need to ask the developer or vendor. Deactivating plugins and switching to the default theme is just a temporary troubleshooting step to try to identify where the problem is.

    Caching stores copies of rendered pages and images on your site so that the site loads faster – you can look under plugins to see if there are any caching plugins. Some hosting companies also use caching – so you could also look at their info or ask them.
