I will also like to prevent colormag menu bar from displaying as I’ve used a menu plugin. Can it be done to remove the dark part with the harmburger in the header while retaining the second (blue)hamburger? Only the blue one works so the other one is not needed.

If you are referring to remove the dark background placed in there then, due to the divs structure it currently posses, it is not possible. So, maybe if you could code on your own then, you can achieve that via the child theme.
