    Hello,

hopefully someone can guide me in the wrong direction.
I would like to have the page title followed by a separator and then the website title in the head’s meta.
It looks like Yoast is somehow adding the website’s title to any variable.
Removed all variables from being added automatically in Yoast settings.
Adding one single variable in the page editor results in that string being published followed by the website title without a blank space or separator between.
Tried a lot, even removing the website title in wordpress settings, but that’s just not working for so many reasons. Same with adding a blank in front or at the end of a string.
No caching plugins running in the background. Neither any other plugins regarding seo, breadcrumbs, script optimization etc.

Any help is highly appreciated, thanks in advance,
    -Bj?rn

    Hi @gluecklichezwerge

We understand you have an issue with the SEO title output.

For this page https://for-you-events.de/impressum/, the title tag is:

    <title>Impressum - for-you-eventsfor-you-events</title>

Could you let us know if this is the correct title that you want? Or what title would you like for it to output?

If you were to edit this page and go to the Yoast SEO meta box and then the SEO title, could you check what it is you’ve entered?

    Hello Michael Tina,

    thanks for your reply.
I can confirm that this is indeed the current meta title. Unfortunately this is not the result I would like to have.
The site title in WordPress is “for-you-events”.
In Yoast I have set the following variables in the title field:
    Title Separator Website Title
Having only the website title in this field will result in: for-you-eventsfor-you-events. It seems somehow the website title is duplicated.
Astonishingly it is giving the correct result in the small preview above that is showing a search result. (see image below)
    Settings in Yoast Plugin

In the meantime I disabled every other plugin (all at once) to see if there is a conflict, updated the page, but the result is still the same. After that I enabled the other plugins again.
If there is anything else I can assist with to minimize possible reasons, let me know please.

EDIT: Closing topic. I found the issue. Customer is using a very old theme and even worse…a childtheme with several changes. But that’s ok, theme will be replaced anyways due to missing responsive elements.
