Today at 1 pm I made screenshots of the statistics of the two plugs, Jetpack and Google Analytics.Which plug provides real data? I would add that the plug of the Jetpack, turned on after a year because this one underestimated statistics.

    Jetpack

    Google analytics

Both plugins offer real data, but they also record that data differently:

Jetpack Stats, for example, don’t track the following:

    1. Visits to uploaded documents and files
    2. Visits from browsers that do not execute javascript or load images
    3. GoogleBot and other search engine spiders/robots
    4. Visits by users that are logged in

Google Analytics also ignores the first 2 items on this list, and they ignore some bots, but the list of bots they ignore is different from the one Jetpack uses.

Depending on your site configuration, Google Analytics might track all visits from logged in users, while Jetpack doesn’t do that by default.

This would explain some of the differences between the 2 services. In addition to that, I’d recommend checking your caching plugin settings, if you use one. That plugin may indeed skew the results by caching the tracking code provided by Jetpack Stats or Google Analytics. The best way to figure this out is to turn that plugin off for a little bit, flush your site’s cache, and see if you notice any differences.

I would also be happy to look at your site myself, to make sure both tracking codes work as expected and that no other plugin or widget is actually blocking one of the tracking codes from working properly.

I hope this helps a bit. Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help!

Hi Jeremy, thank you for your attention. On this page there are no logged ( or registered) users. Also, I checked it dozens of times, and empty memory, I did it for half a year.I decided to write about the problem after a year of testing.I turn off various plugs, the problem appeared a year ago after the next update, and then I decided to turn it off.By the way, I would like to write the plug “publicize” also stopped working a few weeks ago and after the last update Jetpack miraculously revived and works again ?? I did nothing, he began to work, what do you say?

Ps. does not work with Google, why?

I would assume there is at least you. ??

Would you mind turning it back on, and letting me know your site URL so I can take a closer look, and see if Jetpack Stats are properly recorded?

We made several changes to the way your posts are synchronized with WordPress.com in Jetpack 4.2, and that caused some issues with Publicize on some sites. We addressed those issues in Jetpack 4.3.2, that was released last week. That’s probably what happened on your site.

Ps. does not work with Google, why?

We’ve indeed had to disable new Publicize connections to Google+ a few days ago. Google+ made some changes to their settings screen and it’s currently not possible to change connected apps’ privacy settings anymore. As a result, even if you were to make a new Publicize connection to Google+, the posts would only be visible to you.

We’ve contacted Google+ about this, and we’re working with them to find a work-around. I’ll post again here as soon as I have some news.

    Hi there,

    I have good news!

A few weeks ago, Google+ made some changes to their API. In doing so introduced some issues with Publicize. The module still worked, but the updates posted by the WordPress app on your Google+ Profile or Google+ Page were only visible to you.

In the past few weeks, we’ve worked with Google+ to start using a new API. That API works just like the old one, with one exception: publicized posts are now public. You can’t change the visibility of publicized posts to “My Circles”, or anything else.

If you’re happy to have Publicize publishing public posts to your Google+ Profile or Page, you can follow the instructions below to delete your old connection, and then reconnect your Jetpack site to your Google+ account:
    https://jetpack.com/support/publicize/google/#reconnecting

    I hope this helps.
