Site Stats Problem…

    I just started having a problem with my blog’s “Site Stats”. My WordPress blog “www.writingtomyself.net” is currently being hosted by Blue Hosting.

    Yesterday, seemingly out of the clear blue, after logging into my Dashboard and clicking on “Site Stats” all my stats had disappeared and I was getting the following message regarding my stats:

    “Your WordPress.com account,interpretiveimages is not authorized to view the stats of this blog.”

    Nothing else was on the particular webpage – it was basically blank.

    Now, here is the weird part! Back in February of 2007 I did in fact set up a blog on WordPress.Com with that name but had ‘deleted’ that blog within that same year if memory serves me correctly.

    I have no other blog or website named “interpretiveimages.wordpress.com” being hosted on WordPress – or anywhere else for that matter. When researching this blog on WordPress, it indicates the blog has been deleted by its authors – who I assume was actually me.

    The current stats plug-in that I am using is “WordPress.com Stats” (Ver. 1.8.1) and as previously stated has been working absolutely fine. And I am running the current version of WordPress (Ver. 3.1)

    I deactivated it and reactivated it but that had no obvious effect. Can anyone shed any light on why I am getting this message? It would seem my WordPress software, at least with regard to this particular plug-in, is getting some sort of indication that another blog is trying to get my blog’s stats?

    This is a known issue, resulting from the switchover from the stand-alone WordPress.com Stats Plugin to the JetPack-bundled Stats Plugin.

    Refer to the support forums for either the “WordPress.com Stats” Plugin or the “JetPack” Plugin.
