    What is the URL of the site with the problem?

    Hi, it’s turizmpress.com

    We’re being blocked from accessing https://turizmpress.com/xmlrpc.php which Jetpack requires to function.

    When we run:

    curl -A "Jetpack by WordPress.com" -is -H 'Content-Type: text/xml' --data '<?xml version="1.0"?><methodCall><methodName>demo.sayHello</methodName><params></params></methodCall>' 'https://turizmpress.com/xmlrpc.php' && echo

    We get an empty response.

    Unfortunately, blocking XML-RPC is not a great solution for fighting security risks. It’s akin to selling your car because you don’t want it to be stolen.

    Your site’s XML-RPC file is kind of like a communication gateway to your site. Jetpack, the WordPress Mobile Apps, and other plugins and services will use this file to communicate to your site. If this is blocked, you will have other issues pop-up down the road for the same reasons.

    If you are using any security plugins, please try connecting with those temporarily deactivated. If you don’t have any, or if that didn’t work, I would suggest contacting your hosting provider and asking them to unblock your site’s XML-RPC. The most popular hosting providers out there have managed to find other ways to protect their servers without having to hinder your site and your ability to use services with your WordPress site.

    James, if I may chime in here, the above justification for not disabling xmlrpc is probably one of the best I’ve ever heard. If you don’t mind, I might like to quote you on that next time someone asks about such things, especially the bit about it being akin to selling your car because you don’t want it to get stolen, because cold cash on its own is not going to take you on holiday ??

    Hi @macmanx thanks for your time and response.

    The only security feature we are using is Brute force attack protection of jetpack itself. We did not make any changes recently and the problem I’m talking about has started showing by sudden.
    Stats are completely working on WordPress mobile app.

    So since we did not install any new plugin or make change recently, does it mean hosting company made some changes?

    Thanks

    Yes @charwa I recommend checking with your hosting provider’s support on this.
