• Hello guys,

My problem is driving me nuts, because I keep gettting this email, and when I press to update it I get the message: Requires MySQL 5 or newer. Could not prepare working directory:

I hope you have an idea, because my hosting provider has no idea what to do.

    Hey,
    Who is your host?
Try deactivating your plugins then try updating. Do you still get the error?

    Hey,
This doesn’t have to do with the theme. The theme wouldn’t ever send emails. This is an issue with your host. You are really far back on your hosts server software and that should be updated by your host. That is something you need to get them to do.

The reason this happens is when a cPanel addon is supposed to update from the backend, it should not be updated through your WordPress dashboard. Apparently it becomes forever unable to be updated from WHM or cPanel.

Per cPanel, you have to go into home/username/.cpaddons and remove the cPaddons data which is located in a .yaml file. After this, you can only update WordPress through your Dashboard. At least this is how I understood it. Good luck…..
