Site showing white blank page

  • I’m really baffled by this – hope someone can help.

    A friend of mine in Canada says my two sites only show white blank pages. I check, they’re fine. I get a friend in the US to check, they’re fine. I have people looking at the sites from Argentina, India, all over the place and they say it looks ok.

    Then I got to work, check from there, white page. Why?

    https://www.theenglishguy.co.uk/ – this is 2.2, just updated tonight – I recoded the theme over the weekend, all the latest bells and whistles, very few plugins installed and working

    Please tell me if you get the odd problem, and if you fix it at all. It’s driving me nuts.

    I installed 2.2 on a sandbox just an hour ago. I got a whitepage. I went into my admin area

    and re-clicked my chosen theme. Problem solved.

    Just tried that – the same thing happens on my friends’ browsers. White page, nothing but.

    I check, it’s fine.

    We’ve tried deleting cookies, refreshing browsers, removing plugins etc.,

    The odd thing is, I’ve used the same tags as other themes and they don’t seem to have the problem. DOCTYPE, html, head (profile=), etc.,

    i had the same problem, i updated the PHP on my server.

    I’m using Dreamhost, and they have php 5.2.1 on there, built Feb 21, 2007 so it’s pretty new. I’ll ask if they have seen any odd errors crop up.

    Why is it though that I can see my site(s), and some friends can, but others can’t?

    I get a white page here too (The Netherlands), using FireFox

    Looks like the same problem I’m having: did you delete your default theme?
    I keep having this problem: my site switches to default theme every day, automatically… I had deleted all themes except the one I modded. Then, suddenly, white pages kept appearing.

    Someone pointed out to me I had to reinstall the default theme, for at least there would be a theme.
    That’s what I did, but unfortunately this didn’t solve the problem.

    Ok, here’s what I did.

    I wrote to my host, they moved/deleted the plugin directory. Voila everything fixed. So one of my plugins was causing the issue.

    I was only using shortstat and spam karma though..

    It was the nice-related-posts plugin, I must have had a bad/old copy. Fixed now.
