• Hey guys, I appreciate any help you all can offer me here. I’m not a professional, just trying to scrape by and keep my website online. My hosting company took down http: capabilities of my site this week due to some sort of spam coming through one of our unsecured forms. I want to fix the problem but they won’t re-enable http capabilities so I can do all the updates from the dashboard, I have to use FTP. After reading the codex, it says to “Delete the old wp-includes and wp-admin directories on your web host (through your FTP or shell access).”

I just want to be sure that this will not delete any of my content. Am I understanding that it will leave my content and theme intact?

That is correct, all of your content is in the MySQL database, and all of your themes, plugins, and uploads are under the /wp-content/ directory.
