    Hi there, @traveldudes,

We have asked our developers about that, and they could confirm that at the moment, our ?Jetpack Firewall would not block these requests. So we cannot at this time recommend using Protect or upgrading their plan as a fix, to be completely honest with you.

To help you address your issue, however, we recommend looking at this good write up we put together on how to fight SEO spam: https://jetpack.com/blog/wordpress-infected-with-seo-spam/

To summarise it very quickly, the spammers may post these URLs on other websites, where Google crawls and indexes them. The fact that they are labelled as index means that Google isn’t considering their links from the site, which is a good thing all in all.

Removing the URLs would be an action taken through Google Search Console, not something managed by Jetpack.

Hope that helps and answers your question! Let me know if there’s anything else we can do to help ??

    Hi Stef,

thanks a lot for your reply and info.

I’ve taken a look at the article and it doesn’t really include a solution, right?

Stuff like that is so annoying. It’s the second time now that it happened and I wouldn’t be surprised if many others face the same spam. Isn’t that something, which should be fixed?

Why are those links saved at all? It seems that it takes months to delete them on Search Console, as we can’t delete them ourselves.

    Hi @traveldudes,

Thanks for getting back to us.

You are correct in that the article doesn’t have a post-infection fix but rather encourages site admins to be proactive about protecting their sites from similar compromises by setting up a security solution.

As a next step, you might need to have your site’s SEO posture reviewed by a developer. You can also surface the issue with general interest groups or forums on the internet since this is outside Jetpack’s scope of support: https://jetpack.com/support/scope-of-support.

    Best regards,
