I’ve recently been getting an invalid_json error on WP-Cron scheduled site scans on several of my websites. What could cause this? If I initiate a manual scan all is good. This is the log entry.

  • same issue…

Hundreds of our sites are also reporting invalid_json since around 5am PST this morning.

Same here, this happens on multiple websites that I manage.

    Same issue.

    Hi All,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

We’re currently investigating this uptick in?invalid_json?errors on the scheduled site scans and our engineers are testing a fix. However, running a manual site scan should be fine.

We’ll circle back here once we have an update.

    Thank you for your patience!

Same here – two dozen sites.

Any more news on this one? We’re getting hundreds of notifications every day.

Hello, Same thing except that manual analysis does not work either… What a headache! Any news ?

I have the same issue and also am not able to run manual scans

    Hello,

Just wanted to check in here to see if you’re still getting the same error on your latest site scans?

We’ve determined that this issue is due to our Cloudflare rules issuing challenges to some sites running the scans. Our team has configured a resolution for this and got confirmation from other users that the error doesn’t appear on latest scans anymore.

Looking forward to your confirmation. Thank you!

I haven’t seen this error in a while so for me it appears to be fixed. However several people have added their names to this thread since I started it. I’d be happy for you to close this thread.

We still have a few sites returning the error on the scheduled scans.
