You may want to consider using a Spam trapping contact form instead of just placing your email address on the site as you will get spam that you don’t need or want with just the raw email address.

I can suggest a super WordPress plugin for the contact form, just let me know.

Yes – I too am not a fan of the recent articles down in the footer, but I’m not that good with php and modifying themes. It isn’t a widget so it isn’t super-easy to change…I may post on the theme forum how to remove those.
