• I’ve been trying to use the Google Webmaster Tools for weeks (www.google.com/webmasters). To get the full functionality, you have to verify your site and neither of the methods provided works with my site, https://www.savings-bond-advisor.com.

I put a message about this on their support boards and someone quickly responded that my site is sending blank pages to robots. You can test this at web-sniffer.net. Put in your own WordPress URL, make sure you’re getting back a page that includes your HTML, then change the user-agent to “googlebot”. Savings-Bond-Advisor.com returns a 200 OK, but no html.

I can’t figure out what’s causing this. Does this happen for anyone else? The plugins I have activated are:

    Ajax Spell Checker
    Akismet
    WP-postratings
    Unfancy quote
    Smart update pinger
    Google sitemaps
    Fuzzy recent comments

I’ve been able to narrow this down to the WP-postratings plugin by activating and deactivating it. At first this didn’t seem to change anything, but my browser or web-sniffer.net was caching the pages. By using different URLs on my site I was able to turn the HTML on and off by activating and deactivating WP-postratings.

I’ve sent the author an email. This is significant problem if you depend on search engines indexing your site and you just send them blank pages.
