• My site got hacked, I wiped everything off and cleaned it up but now when I go to import my .xml backup of the site it doesn’t seem to work properly. I thought when exporting a .xml file it backed up everything and not just some data?

I have all the posts and menus, it looks like my media is back on the site although not appearing in the right place as the whole link structure is currently different and everything’s broken. I have none of the custom code, no plugins or their settings. I’m pretty much faced with rebuilding my site from scratch from a code/design side of things so if there is any way at all I can restore the custom css that would be extremely helpful!

Don’t know if this is even feasible but might it be possible to find a cached page of my site in Google and copy the code back in if it comes to it? Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer I really appreciate it.

    my site is https://www.streetlevelblog.co.uk/

It is still flagged as an attack site although all malicious code has been removed.

  • You may contact your hosting provider to see if there’s any backup at their end.

There is no back up at their end unfortunately. I’m going to investigate the method with finding a cached Google page. Seems like my only option.
