Good morning!

I have been fighting with my site: https://www.erinjackson.net for the past few weeks. It was compromised by malware and was giving 500 errors and locking me out of the backend. I reached out in the hack section here and called my hosting company (1and1) to help me find the issues and I repaired and removed them (as far as I know) but a woman at the hosting company did something to my site that I cannot seem to figure out or undo.

My blog files reside in erinjackson.net/blog. I have several folders on the www/ level of my site that I link to (and have for many years) from the blog pages. For some reason none of the files in any of the folders on that level (in the “www/media” folder, the “www/images” folder or the “www/epk” folder are accessible via the links/paths they have always lived at. And for some reason all the links within my blog seem to now be pointed to the root level of my site. I know that in my Settings>General the WordPress Address (URL) should be erinjackson.net/blog and the Site Address (URL) should be erinjackson.net but if i change it back to the way I know it should be it messes up everything. I manually changed the config file via FTP to get the site back up.

On this page, the first two hyperlinks should link to files in my www/epk folder, which is outside my blog folder. But I get a 404 error even though I know the files are there and in good shape. And the thumbnails are supposed to link to his-res photos in my www/images folder and I know the images are there but that also returns a 404.

The other thing I don’t understand is that the thumbnails, which are in the wp-content folder are listed (below) as if they are in the root level when they are inside the www/blog/wp-content folder. There is no wordpress install on the base level. But when I change it back to where I know the actual files reside, the images are x’ed out.

Code for hi-res download:
<img class=”alignnone size-thumbnail wp-image-9047″ src=”https://www.erinjackson.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/red_1_small-150×150.jpg” alt=”red_1_small” width=”150″ height=”150″ />?

I built this site so I know that is wrong and prior to whatever she changed I never had a problem like this. Why is my blog acting like it’s in a folder that it’s not in? They are not wordpress folks and they are telling me things I know that are wrong. I’m worried that the 500 errors will come back, but crossing fingers. If anyone could help with this (and I don’t know if I’m explaining this well enough) I’d really appreciate your help. I’ve always been able to figure out the wordpress puzzle, but this one has completely stumped me.
