Site organisation question
-
Hello All, I’m newly registered to the forum but have casually browsed it for ages.
I am currently developing a website providing revision resources for teachers and students studying philosophy, which is proving to be a little more complicated than I thought it would be.
I was hoping to divide the site up into some vague areas such as ‘philosophy of mind’, ‘moral philosophy’, ‘philosophical ethics’ etc. Under each of these areas there will be one or more sections providing resources on topics such as ‘Externalism’, ‘Akrasia’ etc. Each section is broken into steps getting the reader to click through from page to page providing a narrative structure to the content.
Originally I wanted widgets on the front page presenting each section with a small blurb, the general philosophical area they belong to and then a link through to the section content. Each section would have its own menu area with links taking the reader through all of the steps. You can view a draft version of the site not using wordpress at the following address: https://www.thephilosophyresource.co.uk/index.php
I really just wanted to get an idea about how you guys might go about organising the content. Whether I should be using posts or pages for the steps of each section and then some sort of tag or category which would bind all this content together? Then there is the problem with having a different custom menu for each different section, how would you guys get over that?
Sorry, this is such basic stuff, but I’m a bit of a beginner with wordpress and I don’t have the most logical mind when it comes to housekeeping. If anyone could help I would be so grateful.
