site only loads with www prefix..

Not sure what I did wrong.. but site only loads with www prefix.. I used duplicator to move site to new host and thought that I followed instructions to the T.. but now after finishing installation of site to new host..
1. the site only loads with https://www.. so if i just type domain it doesnt load.
2. cannot log in to WP either.. but site came thru just fine.. so long as i use the https://www..prefix..

Your help is appreciated.. first word press install..
