• I’m using the Twenty Twenty Theme with the block editor and I have 2 issues:

    • I have the Latest Posts block displaying 3 recent blog posts in a grid format but although this works in page preview and in a standard Firefox window, once I open the page in a private window or another browser, the posts display as a list
    • Similarly, below the Latest Posts block I have a buttons block with 3 buttons, which were displaying side by side and center aligned. Again, if I open them in a private window or a different browser, they are one above the other and left aligned. I’ve obviously tried changing the alignment of the block but nothing works. Right alignment sends them to the right and both left or center alignment sends them to the left, even though the html shows them as being center aligned.
    • Does anyone have any ideas what’s going on here?

Looks like you are using Jetpack.
Try updating the cache or temporarily disabling the plugin to see if the issues still appear.

Thanks @raqai I just went in to try that and have realised that the issues seem to have gone away, with or without Jetpack activated. It would be good to know how/why this has happened but I guess, as long as it stays working I’m happy.

In that case I am pretty certain it was related to the caching.

To simplify it: Caching stores your page in a way as simple as possible so the software (WordPress) does not have to process the whole site every time a user visits your website. This makes your page faster to load for the users.

This means that some changes you make, may only be present after the caches have been updated. During development, I highly recommend avoiding/disabling caches so you always have the actual state and do not have to manually update the caches with every change (or wait for the plugin to trigger it according to the specifications).
